Dr. Cullen grew up in Northern Virginia and has always loved animals, even volunteering at the National Zoo while in high school. He received his undergraduate degree and eventually his veterinary degree at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. Afterwards, he moved back to the area, completing emergency and surgical internships at referral clinics before working regularly in general practice.
While he enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, he loves working with dogs and cats on chronic pain management and orthopedic conditions, diabetes management, and preventative medicine. He is also a sucker for puppies and kittens.
He lives in the area with his amazing wife, where they are busy raising their daughter, and their two oddball dogs (Jochi and Khufu). In his spare time, he loves to do Spartan and Tough Mudder races, Appalachian trail backpacking, and watching movies.
