Dr. Retzlaff grew up in Southeastern Virginia and began his veterinary career in high school, volunteering at animal shelters and a local clinic. He received his BS in Animal Science from the University of Minnesota and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Oregon State University. Dr. Retzlaff enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but has a special interest in preventative medicine, soft tissue surgery, oncology, and geriatric care. In his free time, Dr. Retzlaff enjoys rock climbing, cooking, and exploring Washington, DC. He has two cats, Pistachio and Pierogi.
