Dr. Snelgrove grew up in a small rural town in Kentucky and knew early on that she wanted to be a veterinarian. Her father is a veterinarian and has his own practice back home. She worked for him during high school and knew that this was the path for her. She received her undergraduate degree in Agriculture from Eastern Kentucky University and then went on to complete her veterinary degree from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating, she moved up here to Northern Virginia with her husband. She worked at a couple local animal hospitals but has since called Shirlington Animal Hospital her work home since 2016. As our lead veterinarian, she leads our team to succeed daily! She loves all aspects of general medicine especially surgery. Dr. Snelgrove resides in Northern Virginia with her husband and two young sons. She also has a cat named Lily and a dog named Argon. When she’s not working, you will find her running, hiking, or anything that involves the outdoors with her family.
