Dr. Hergen grew up in Alexandria, Virginia and now lives in Arlington. She attended the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill and graduated with a degree in biology in 2000. She then attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine graduating with highest honors and has been practicing veterinary medicine locally since 2008. Her professional interests include advanced imaging, cardiology, and animal welfare.
She enjoys spending time with her three cats, Frisky, Tiger Lily, and DeNiro, as well as her rabbit, Perry. Dr. Hergen adopted all of her animals from various rescue groups, including the Animal Welfare League of Arlington where she volunteers her free time.
She is also an avid sports fan! Her favorite teams include the Washington Redskins, the Baltimore Orioles, and the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. She also enjoys reading, swimming, hiking, and spending time at the beach.
